While the past few weeks in the Digital Technologies program has been loaded with fun and, well, technology, I have been craving some tactile sculpting. Today I spent the first couple hours of the morning baking pumpkin seeds and carving a pumpkin. Although the people around me thought I was weird for cutting away all the orange of the pumpkin, they understood when it was done. Pumpkins are not clay, yet it was just as fun to carve out some facial forms. I was lucky enough to be in a rural area and got some nice pictures off my iphone with the fall leaves behind the pumpkin/sculpture. The first image below is while I was working on it, the tools I used were the exacto knife and some pointed tool that was in my harbor freight “56 piece precision knife kit”, which after some of the young ones finished carving their pumpkins, it was a “46 piece precision knife kit”. Happy Halloween!
