Sculptural Motion
Although the final pieces are made from bronze, a traditional sculpture material, there were a few processes that the sculptures went through to go from digital to physical. After working on a script to create the shapes from motion capture data, solid surfaces where rendered as a visualization. Working with magics to cleanup some of the mesh, the final forms where then 3D printed. The printed sculptures then went through a coating of wax. With the sculptures sealed they where gated and dipped in ceramic slurry to complete the preparation for casting. After the plastic was burned out of the shell the pieces where cast in bronze and cleaned up.
